Friend Connect Gadget Labs + Appointment Scheduling |
On February 4st, 2011, our partners over at Daring Labs
worked with us to launch the Appointron appointment booking
gadget. You can install it on your Blogger blog or on your Friend Connect enabled site by visiting
the Friend Connect Gadget Labs Blog and following the
install instructions.
We partnered with Daring Labs because we can see the value that Appointron creates for our users,
providing them with the capability to schedule appointments from their blog or website. The value
proposition is clear: you put a widget on your site that can capture more customers who are interested
in your service, and for the customers who are regulars, it creates a convenient way for them to
schedule an appointment with you without having to pick up the phone.
The way the free version works:
- You install the Appointron gadget
- You signup for an Appointron account (totally free)
- You specify your business contact, and list the services you offer (and their prices)
- You set your operating hours
- Then, you pick your gadget colors to match the theme on your website.
The capabilities of the free version boils down to this:
- Your customers can schedule an appointment from your blog.
- When people schedule an appointment with you, an email is sent to you informing you of the new appointment.
- You can add as many services as you wish.
- You can only have 1 service provider (unless you upgrade).
If you pay for a more full-featured plan, you can get:
- Appointment reminders sent to you and your customers.
- A full calendar view of upcoming appointments synced to Google Calendar (and others).
- The ability to add 5, 10, or unlimited-staff members.
- A nice summary of your customer history, including a customer list and their past appointments.
- A published mini website that you can also used for appointment booking. (This helps people find you in Google).
